the wise guys
The authors of this blog are teachers with over 30 years of experience with teaching grades 4-6 and they provide insight and resources for other teachers. Here are some examples of their posts:
I have enjoyed reading through these articles. The list format makes it very readable and informative. These help teachers learn and grow even during busy schedules. They can also be saved as resources that would be easy to locate when needed. For example, if I Pin or bookmark "10 Tips for Welcoming a New Student" I can quickly access it when a new student arrives in my classroom.
Though their headings and fand ormats are simple, the information in their articles is not. They have a good understanding of student, parent and administrator perspectives. They share advice that helps you find solutions that helps everyone involved. I especially benefited from reading "5 ways to Communicate with Parents" because parent communication is an area that I have little experience with. They had great ideas about parent letters, emails, and phone calls and provided details about each form of communication. I will definitely be saving and using this resource.
The Wise Guys have a Teacher Pay Teacers account that has a large following. Many of their resources are downloadable for free. They embed them into their blog posts, which helps categorize and understand how their resources could be applied in the classroom.
i love the creativity and wisdom that this website shares with teachers. I will be actively using this in my future classroom, and I would definitely recommend it to colleagues.
